A huge crowd was on hand to cheer the Shoregals as it was Avon Lake youth soccer night and they did not go home disappointed.

AL at Avon on 8/28:

AL - 0          Avon - 2

In the 2010 installment of the annual "Golden Shoe" game, the Avon Lady Eagles prevailed over the visiting Avon Lake Shoregals by a score of 2-0. Both Avon goals were tallied by freshman Kelsey Lawler and she was assisted on one of her goals by Megan Garner. It was a tale of two halves as the Shoregals dominated play in the first half, but were unable to find the back of the net and the game went into halftime tied 0-0 . In the second half, Avon stepped up the intensity gaining control of the match and eventually netting the two goals. Holly Kraus was in goal for the Lady Eagles and made several great saves among her 7 on the night to preserve the victory. Dana Strimbu handled the goal keeping duties for the Shoregals and recorded 5 saves.

A good first week as our record now stands at 2-1-0.

Our JV team is undefeated as they won 2 and tied 1 during the week!!
