NSCAA Announces Team Ethics and Sportsmanship
Award Recipients for High School and College Soccer

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (December 22, 2016) – The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) announced on Thursday the Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Award recipients for the Fall 2016 high school season and 2016 college season. Today’s awards recognize a total of 164 teams across the country for exhibiting fair play, sporting behavior and adherence to the laws of the game. Award winners may be seen at the following link:

http://www.nscaa.com/web/Awards/Recipients/2016_NSCAA_Fall_High_School_Team_Ethics_and_Sportsmanship_Award_Winners.aspx

The Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Award is given to NSCAA members at four levels. Teams honored at the platinum level went an entire season without a player or coach receiving a yellow card or red card. Teams honored at the gold (1-10%), silver (11-30%) and bronze (31-50%) levels are based on a percentage calculated by the total number of cards received by players/coaches divided by the team’s total number of games played.

Avon Lake received the Silver award this year as the team only incurred 5 yellow cards over the course of the season and no red cards.  The Shoregals were one of just 8 schools in Ohio to be recognized and honored.  Congrats to the 'Gals!!!!
