2014 Shoregal Calendar:
Please visit the Pages box on the right hand side of our blog and click on "2014 Calendar" and there you will find the 2014 season calendar. It lists times and locations for all practices, games, and any other pertinent events. Unfortunately, due to size constraints we are not able to display the calendar on our blogsite. However, when you hit on the Pages link you will find the calendar in its entirety.

Alumni Game:
Another installment of our annual Alumni Reunion Game was held last Sunday 7/27.  This year we tried a new format by joining with the Boys team to have a combined Alumni afternoon and we also changed the location to the ALHS stadium to take advantage of the turf field there.  We had 25 girls come out to play and that was the largest number I have seen in the 11 years that I have been around and is probably the most ever.  Unfortunately, the weather would not cooperate and we did not get the chance to complete a glorious comeback in the 2nd half after the HS girls carried a 1-0 lead into halftime. We will have to wait until next summer for the rematch and we hope to see everyone again next year.

The Alumni squad was made up of the following:

Lindsay Harris - Class of 2005

Caitlin Bodzioney - Class of 2006

Sarah Richardson - Class of 2006

Alana Bilancini - Class of 2008

Jamie Bush - Class of 2008

Sammy Harris - Class of 2008

Sammy Stuart - Class of 2008

Halle Orlinski - Class of 2009

Bridget Lyons - Class of 2010

Melanie D'Angelo - Class of 2012

Danielle Liszka - Class of 2012

Cheyenne Lukstein - Class of 2012

Annie Lyons - Class of 2012

Taylor Nedrich - Class of 2012

Jocey Spitz - Class of 2012

Dana Strimbu - Class of 2012

Alumni Game Pics:

Kudos Korner:
A major event like the Alumni game cannot be put together without a lot of help from our parents, so we would like to thank the following:  Mechele Nally for coordinating the girls side along with Mark Siko who donated the plates, plasticware, and napkins and Tracy Harper who did a little of everything.  On the Boys side Vanessa Furrer coordinated their half and was assisted by Holly Spitz and Cece Carlson.

One important key to success is self-confidence. An important key to self-confidence is preparation.

Toughness is a talent. I would take true toughness over talent everyday. When you have both then you have a true champion.

To be your best, you have to be willing to be uncomfortable and embrace it as part of your growth process.

It's not about having the skill to do something. It's about having the will, desire & commitment to be your best.

There may be people that have more talent than you, but there's no excuse for anyone to work harder than you do.

Being positive in a negative situation is not naive. It's leadership.

A champion shows who they are by what they do when they're tested.

What you can become depends upon what you're willing to overcome.

In order to get it all you must be willing to give it all.

Only those who risk going too far can possibly find out how far they can go.

You can't let yourself be beat because of lack of effort.
