St. Joseph Academy - 3 wins - 0 losses - 0 ties - We played SJA in the early years of the program and won all three times.

Strongsville  0-5-0 - A perennial state power that we have not been able to beat.  This is coach Jessica's high school where she was a State Champion and All-American.

Valley Forge 10-0-0 - We have played them off and on since 1995 and we have won every time. Currently, we are in a period where they are not on the schedule.

Soccer Site of the Week:
We are featuring various club websites that you can visit to make arrangements for off season training. Tryouts have already begun and almost every club is looking for HS girls to play. This week we will highlight the Excalibur Soccer Club which may be found at:

http://www.cklasoccer.com/   (Cleveland Kickers Lakewood Academy)

This another club that a number of our girls have worked with over the years. Relatively conveniently located in Lakewood for Avon Lakers. Check them out!

Emily O'Connor (Jr.) has moved up to 12th place all-time on the goals scored list going into her senior year. We expect her to easily move into the top ten and maybe even the top five with a great season.

Shoregal Alumni in College Update:
The college season has concluded for our Shoregal alumni and let's give an update on how their seasons went:

At Valparaiso University, senior Trisha Wladecki played in all 19 games with 4 starts.  She scored only one goal, but it was a game winner for the 10-6-3 Crusaders.  In her career, she scored 3 goals and was credited with 7 assists.

At Otterbein University, freshman Dana Strimbu played goalie in 16 games with 13 starts and was the primary goalie by season end.  She had a record of 10-4 with 4 shutouts and 40 saves. She allowed only 12 goals the entire season.

Her sister and fellow freshman Jillian Strimbu played in all 19 games with 4 starts.  She scored 4 goals with 1 game winner and contributed 2 assists. Otterbein finished the season with a record of 13-6 and was the Ohio Athletic Conference regular season champs.

At Cleveland State, junior Taylor Miller played in 9 games with 4 starts and did not score for the 6-11-0 Vikings.

At Ohio State, junior Tani Lopez played for the Club soccer team and they had a terrific season and qualified for the National Championship tournament in Memphis, Tenn.  At the tournament, they won 3 games and advanced to the quarterfinals where they were finally beaten by Virgina 1-0.  That was their only loss of the year and their record was around 14-1-1 and they only gave up 4 goals on the season.  Difficult to find any stats, so I don't have more to report.

At Butler University, freshman Rachel Gates plays for their club soccer team and once again, difficult to find any stats.

It sounds like our Alumni are representing the Shoregals very well at the next level.

All Time Records:
For a little fun and to satisfy some curiosity, over the next several weeks we will present our all time record against various opponents.

Fairview  9 wins - 0 losses - 1 tie - An old SWC foe that we never lost to. We have not played them since 2005.

Brunswick  0-3-2 - We have played them off and on since 1997 though we have never beaten them - maybe in 2013.

Lorain Schools  11-0-0 - We have won every game that we have played against Lorain schools - mostly Southview and a few Admiral King.  Both of those schools are now closed and Lorain HS has dropped girls soccer.
